Henri Matisse (1869–1954) is a French artist, most famous for his use of color in his paintings. In this video we’ll discuss “Dance” and “Music”, a pair of monumental paintings Matisse made for Russian businessman Sergey Shchukin.
In this video we’ll first take a look at the painting itself. What do we see? What can we say about the composition and ordonnance? After this visual analysis we’ll go into the interpretations.
