Description:
Here, we examine John William Waterhouse’s Pre-Raphaelite painting “The Lady of Shalott”. Through a little art history, we uncover the hidden meanings in the painting, it’s situation in the story of art, and its relevance to us now. I argue that the Lady of Shalott itself is a defence of the Pre-Raphaelite movement.
